Health and hygiene to be promoted at Champions Cup Uganda

Green Sports Africa in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation has organized the Champions Cup Uganda edition 2023 to be held at ESA Park, Kitubulu in Katabi Town Council, Wakiso district this weekend.

The Champions Cup is an initiative to Provide a platform for young footballers to compete, whilst also training them to become health and hygiene champs.

All players will receive training in Hygiene, Disease Prevention, Mental Well-being, and Reproductive Health to be held at Kalangala Hall, Best Western Hotel in Entebbe (Victoria Mall).

“Participants are then encouraged to be champions by continuing to educate others within their communities.” Kassim Ismaily, director at Green Sports Africa remarks.

The special tournament brings an electrifying twist to traditional football format by challenging players to show their best smallfield skills in intense 7 vs 7 matches. Each team will be allowed 3 substitutions per game.

All the quarterfinalist teams will also receive full kits. The winning team will take home a trophy, gold medals and cash prize of $600.

The outstanding performers will have opportunities to advance their football careers through the GSA network.
