Security officials launch crackdown on suspcted machete wielding thieves in Kabale Municipality

In response to growing public concern over a spate of matchet thefts in Kabale municipality, Kabale District security authorities have launched a crackdown on the suspected perpetrators.

Speaking to our reporter today at his offices at Kabale district headquarters in Kabale municipality, Ronald Bakak the Kabale Deputy Resident District Commissioner,  has assured residents that security forces are ready to confront the issue head-on saying they have heard the community’s outcry, and we are taking decisive action.

According to Bakak, a recent police operation has already resulted in the arrest of around 40 suspects believed to be involved in the matchet theft incidents that have been plaguing the area.

Bakak explained that security message is clear, not tolerate this criminal behavior. He revealed that security operatives are prepared to clash with any suspects and restore a sense of safety and security in Kabale municipality.

He assured the public that the arrested suspects shall be prosecuted in courts of law calling the residents to always fear giving related information and giving enough evidence such that the arrested are purnished for others to learn from them.
